Here’s a #riddle for you. God thought it, Jesus wrought it, the Holy Spirit brought it, the Devil fought it, and I’ve got it. What is it? God thought up a plan to reconcile sinful man back into His fold. Jesus had a specific sacrificial purpose to fulfill in that plan. The Holy Spirit was given to us to keep that plan available to us constantly. Satan wants to thwart this plan, no matter the cost. Like my father, who is delivering this message, I have got it; not because of my own efforts, but because of God’s. And you can, too.

Can you remember the last time you felt peaceful? This year my granddaughter Rebecca got a new dog which she brought to the farm and as we were all visiting, her “Winnie” laid on my feet which took all the stress out of my body making me very calm. It is amazing how touching animals can remove stressors for the moment. Jesus said in John 14:27 something we can all hold dear, “PEACE, I LEAVE WITH YOU, MY PEACE I GIVE UNTO YOU, not as the world gives…let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.” Then on Christmas Eve, my daughter Jerilyn, son-in-law Michael, granddaughter Victoria and I were attending a candlelight/Lord’s Supper service with chamber music playing as we sang carols holding candles which engulfed the sanctuary with individual lights. I felt GOD’S PEACE at that moment.”PEACE of GOD, which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:7 During these stressful days and uncertain times, may we turn to His EVERLASTING Word as we start a new year…Col.3:15 “Let the PEACE OF GOD RULE IN YOUR HEART…..and be thankful.”
How far in advance was the first coming of #Jesus foretold? How far ahead was it planned out? If Christ was a gift to us, and He definitely was, what did we do to deserve Him? What unique qualities came with this gift? We are all born and die, but Jesus was born to die. Why is that good news? Who’s name is on this gift? Unlike some of the other presents you will receive this year, how long will this gift last? Sorry about the jumpy potato quality of this week’s recording.

#GLORY, #splendor, and #honor are attributes which are rare. I am in awe when I see a magnificent sunset or the evening sky filled with twinkling stars so I can only imagine the splendor and glory all around Jesus Christ on the night of His earthly birth. Luke 2 records how shaken the shepherds in the fields watching their sheep were when the “angel of the Lord stood before them and the GLORY OF THE LORD SHONE AROUND THEM..the angel said, ‘Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy for all people; today in the city of David there has been born for YOU a SAVIOR, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’ Suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying, ‘GLORY TO GOD in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” We see big productions on large screens or at Disney World or in church programs, but from what source does REAL GLORY come? Jesus lifting His eyes to heaven said in John 17, “I GLORIFIED THEE (FATHER) on earth having accomplished the work which Thou gave Me to do and now, GLORIFY ME together with THYSELF, FATHER, with the GLORYwhich I had with Thee before the world was. . . Father, I desire that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold MY GLORY, which THOU GAVE ME; for Thou loved Me before the foundation of the world.” May We Behold HIS GLORY….
#Joy to the World, the Lord is come. How do we fill every day with joy? Does it have to be situation dependent? What happens when we search for joy apart from the Lord? If we are to believe the media, it can be found in products, wealth, or fame. But what do people have to say that have been down those paths? What does Jesus have to say about it? Where do we need to learn to dwell? What do we need to learn to do? How hard do we have to work to bear fruit? How does bearing fruit relate to joy? How important is this word, abide?
