THE LIVING GOD #CORRECTS

Last week while I was driving home, a woman turned in front of me (of yes, she had a red light) while holding her phone up in her right hand trying to follow the GPS…Her car was filled with passengers who had no idea where they were and all were depending upon her and instructions from a satellite!  Ever been there?  Just heard a news alert on hurricane Matthew that one man drowned when he drove into a flooded river following his GPS.  We all need directions to get on the correct path in our lives.  WHO CORRECTS YOUR DIRECTION?   If man can build technology to instruct, direct, and correct our earthly movements from outer space. why do we doubt the Spirit of God when He corrects our direction in order to reach His Eternal Destination.   Pro.20:24 “Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man understand his own way:”   Proverbs 3 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean of your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.  Do not despise the chastening of the LORD; or be weary of HIS CORRECTION: for whom the LORD LOVES HE CORRECTS; even as a father the son in whom he delights.  Happy is the man that finds wisdom and gets understanding.  Prov. 4 Hear instruction from the Father…I have led you in the right paths..Enter not into the path of the wicked and do not go in the way of evil men.  Avoid it, pass not by it turn from it…let your eyes look straight ahead.  Watch the path of your feet and do not turn to the right or to the left:  remove your foot from evil.”  Jeremiah 10:23,24 “O LORD, I know ..it is not in man that walks to direct his steps. LORD CORRECT ME”  Do you get frantic when you are lost?  Isaiah 26:3 “God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on the LORD:  because he trusts in the LORD forever for in the LORD JEHOVAH IS EVERLASTING STRENGTH…7.O LORD, make the way of the righteous smooth and the path level while following thy way.”

Why didn’t #JesusChrist give #instructions to His disciples before He was crucified?  How much more weight did it hold when He gave them marching orders after the Resurrection?  Where did Jesus have everyone meet for this delivery of a blueprint for the future?  What power does Christ claim to have?  Whose side does that make you want to be on?  To whom was this commission directed?  Once again Jesus packs a world of instruction into a short, simple directive.  What comforting promise is given along with this mandate?

THE LIVING GOD #WORD

WHO GETS THE LAST #WORD?  In any #conversation, #argument, #debate, or #verbal #exchange, the one expressing the last word seems to me to have the more lasting effect.  I have known a few people who always had to have the last word on any subject.  When  you twitter do you need the last comment?  I personally think having the last say on any matter seems to make the one giving it a feeling of superiority.  In my family, the elders always had the last word, and we honored their wisdom and stature as heads of our households.  Today, I notice many individuals who act superior to their peers as well as the older generations displaying no need for a word of wisdom.   Some people have cleverly shortened  words, made up slurs, or transposed  the words’ meaning.  (high jacked words).   I am glad to say there is one word that will never change!  “In the beginning was the WORD,  and the WORD was with GOD, and the  WORD WAS GOD.” John1:1  “the  WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth” John 1:14   “the  WORD of GOD IS LIVING and active and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Heb. 4:12   The Bible tells me who got the first word and who will get the final last word...  “HE is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD.” Rev.19:13

How long did #JesusChrist stick around after His #resurrection, appearing to His disciples and various other people?  What were His #Last Words?  To whom did Jesus reveal Himself  on the road to Emmaus after His resurrection?  You would think it would be one of His inner circle, but it wasn’t.  How is this comforting to us?  How does this episode reflect how God concerns Himself with our mood?  How did they not know immediately who Jesus was?  Would the Lord have really kept going down the road and not revealed Himself if they had not invited Him to stay?  What emotional response told them that Jesus was who He said He was?  What did they do about it?
