YOKED WITH THE LIVING GOD

from Barbara's Bible

Are you #yoked with anyone? Yoked can be defined as being coupled or linked together in a joint association even a tie or bond like the “yoke of matrimony”. What a beautiful picture of our relationship with the Living God. “For your Maker is your husband; the LORD OF HOSTS IS HIS NAME” Isaiah 54:5 How many people do you know who are searching for companionship? I see a landscape of drifting, searching, lonely, isolated individuals looking for instant gratification to their wants whether in pill, liquid, smoke, food, or entertainment form. I believe we all need to humble ourselves before our Maker and listen to His Words so that we can have a beautiful relationship with Him. Listen to these words which Jesus Christ spoke, “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU, AND LEARN OF ME: I AM MEEK AND LOWLY IN HEART: AND YOU SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS. FOR MY YOKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT.” Mathew11;28-30 Carefully choose your coupling . .

Biblical Basis for Missions – The Means of Missions

Bible Audio Blog

Some of our #leaders and #rulers today do not want to be seen with common folk unless it is for a #photo-op.  Compare that with the #Creator of the Universe who sees us, hears us, and through His Son, Jesus Christ touches us.  Seeing, hearing, and touching are the means of missions still to this day.  Can we see, hear, and touch Christ?  How about others?  From what perspective should we see the world?  What would happen if we could see the world through eyes of faith, hope, and love?  As we attempt to listen, what is it we should hear?  Ironically, Brother Tommy mentions a prediction about the state of missions in the year 2000 (this was in 1987) that never came to pass mainly because of the proliferation of the internet, which is how you’re receiving this now.  But, the internet can’t replace physical contact with the unsaved.  Are you making contact with those that need a savior?

THE LIVING GOD RESCUES

#Rescues are being conducted somewhere as you are reading this blog! In my lifetime I have never seen so many #catastrophic events unfolding around the world. At first I thought that it was just the internet informing us of current circumstances in places unknown; however, these events are unfolding within rapid succession!!! When I grew up in Texas, we had the dreaded Spring tornados that truly flattened everything in its path. Today I hear of more and more of them but not just limited to the plains. Now we are having floods, devastating hurricanes, earthquakes. snowstorms and extreme heat and cold temperatures. All of these storms cause loss of life and others need to be rescued if they are to survive. As devastating as all of these perils are on earth GOD RESCUES. I see the longing and seeking in the eyes of those looking for help as they await being rescued. “Look for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great GOD and our Saviour Jesus Christ who gave himself for us, that He ‘the LIVING GOD’ MIGHT RESCUE US from ALL INIQUITY” Titus 2:13,14 Do call on GOD the way that David did… “LORD, RESCUE MY SOUL FROM DESTRUCTION” Ps.35:17 “The LORD is a refuge in times of trouble and He shall endure forever” Ps.9:7,9

Biblical Basis for Missions – New Testament Subjects

Bible Audio Blog

How does the New Testament of the #Bible relate to the Old Testament?  The New Testament completes and fulfills the Old.  How does the theme of #missions weave through both?  Were people in the Old Testament saved in a different way than those in the New and any of us today?  Why do we even have the books of the New Testament if not to act as both a missionary and a tool for missions?  For example, the gospels give us four different testimonials about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.  What can we learn about Jesus’ purpose on Earth from these accounts?  Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John each concentrate on a different aspect of Christ and His ministry and yet they all combine beautifully to give us a more complete picture of our wonderful Savior.  Who needs this Savior?
