WRITING OF THE LIVING GOD

Do you #treasure hand #written #cards, #notes, #letters from important people in your life? Do you hold on to them and reread those words to feel the presence and being of the writer of that written word? I admit I do! Would you like to read or reread the words that are the writings of the Living God? “GOD gave Moses two tables of testimony on tables of stone, WRITTEN WITH THE FINGER OF GOD.“ Exodus 31:18 “the two tablets were written on both sides…and the TABLETS WERE THE WORK OF GOD and THE WRITING WAS THE WRITING OF GOD GRAVEN UPON THE TABLETS” Exodus 32:15,16 Let’s read:

You shall have no other gods before me.

You shall not make for yourself an idol.

You shall not take the name of the LORD your GOD in vain.

Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy

Honor your father and your mother

You shall not murder

You shall not commit adultery

You shall not steal

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor

You shall not covet Exodus 20:3-17

“Incline our hearts, O Lord, to keep this thy law

#Trust and #obey for there’s no other way to be #happy in #Jesus. That’s a line from an old hymn we used to sing all the time. These days, we are being asked to obey a lot of sources, sometimes conflicting. If you are in sync with God’s law , you will not be in conflict with man’s law except when those man made laws are immoral. But, what does the Bible say about obedience? Should we obey out of fear or love? Which of these has a more consistent outcome? Can it be both? What does Paul mean when he tells the Philippians to ‘work out’ their salvation with fear and trembling? Hint: think miner. Also, fear of what?

Last week, I skipped ahead in this series on Philippians. Whether by accident or providence, today we go back to chapter two. How could #Jesus Christ be fully #God and fully #man? What is the #contradiction that this shows in our usual model of achieving power? Many people expected the Savior to be a conqueror, and He will be in the future, but His first mission on Earth was to be a servant and a sacrifice. In the end, every knee will bow to the Lord. What does Paul mean by above the Earth, on the Earth, and under the Earth? From the most apathetic hedonist to the most humble Christ follower and from the most ardent atheist to the most televised preacher and everyone in between, every tongue will confess what? Will they all do it happily? Does glory to Jesus take away glory from God?

BLOOD OF THE LIVING GOD

There is #power in the #blood. Blood is the fluid in our body that circulates nourishment to all parts of the body and carries away waste products. Yes, life is in the blood and the blood is life giving. I am impressed with the doctors that are using donated blood from survivors of the COVID/19 virus and using the plasma antibodies to heal others. Jesus Christ was tortured and gave His blood on the cross of death for our healing redemption. “In Christ we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” Eph. 1:7 Just think about the healing cleansing power of Jesus Christ’s blood that he sacrificed for us to live eternally with Him in glory if we turn to the great physician and ask Him into our life. “For this is My blood … which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” Matt.26:28 Claim the healing power of Jesus Christ blood donation for you! “To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood.” Rev.1:5 Are you tired of isolation? Walk ….“If we walk in the light as GOD Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1John 1:7 The great physician has eternal healing power in His blood.!

If your faith is in Jesus, you can be joyous everyday despite #viruses, #volcanos, or #locusts. We just celebrated #Easter not because it is #Spring or the #flowers are in bloom, but because #Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and then conquered #death for us with His #resurrection. Are Christ followers perfect? Why would Paul address these comments to perfect people when he just said that he himself was not perfect? We cannot do anything to attain salvation, but do we have responsibilities after we have been saved? If we have a role in our growth, does that mean God is hands off? How can we know where we are in our growth in the Lord by looking at Paul’s writings? Was he finished? Have we arrived?

P.S. I jumped out of order in this series but next week we will realign, God willing.
