Prayer is our conversation with the Creator of the Universe.  God has so much to concentrate on, does He want us to pray?  How did prayer start?  Where in the Bible does it show us how to pray?  What conditions are required for effective prayer?  Do we ask for anything and everything?  How do we make sure our will lines up with God’s will?  How does God answer prayer?  I heard one person put it succinctly when they said God always answers prayers yes, no, or not now.  Have you ever been glad you didn’t get what you prayed for?  Is there a right place, length, or time to pray?  Should you keep asking when you don’t get an answer?

What Keeps Christ From Reigning?

How important was the last week of Jesus Christ’s earthly human presence?  What happened to turn the people from shouting Hosannah on Palm Sunday to shouting ‘crucify Him’ a few days later?  What keeps us from shouting Hosannah now?  Does Christ desire to be King?  Does He deserve to be King?  But, do we deny Him as King?  Are we really that different than those Palm Sunday fans who expected a different kind of king than what they got?  If you are ready to make Jesus Christ King in your life go to this link.

A Nation in a Downward Spiral

19810201 Revival Under Hezekiah - Rev. Tommy Jones

How God revived a nation under moral decay and dim hope.  Sounds good,  right?  With God anything is possible.  We need to pray for and start a revival in
our country right now like the one God brought Judah under King Hezekiah.  As much as this message was relevant in 1981, it is even more meaningful today.

Revive- to bring back to life

The World needs a revived commitment to the Lord.  Time is running out as we point out in the ‘Answers About the Future’ blog.  Today we kick off a 3 part series Brother Tommy taught to get people ready for a week long revival in Macon back in early 1981.  The Lord impressed on me the importance of the revival message when I digitized this lesson and shortly afterwards the pastor at my local church covered Jonah and Ninevah from another angle.  As Tommy points out this is the only revival mentioned in the Old Testament directed at Gentiles.  Jonah is a picture of many believers, called of God to witness to a lost world but running in the opposite direction.  In fact as my pastor pointed out, when we run from God we get caught in a downward self-centered spiral that hurts ourselves and then the ones we love and then those around us.  This book of the Bible is chocked full of lessons for believers and non-believers alike.

I find it very interesting that Brother Tommy hated teaching this subject.  But he likened it to driving by your neighbor’s house and upon finding it on fire, debating whether you should deliver the unpleasant news.  Does Hell exist?  Who goes there?  How can it be avoided?  How long does it last?  Does the Bible say anything about degrees of punishment?  Is Hell a place filled with fire?  Does God want certain people to go to Hell?  If the reality of eternity has gotten you ready to make a decision please go the Gift link on the home page or click here:

Heaven Is Perfect Happiness

What will Heaven be like?  This first scripture that Brother Tommy reads reminds me of the guy that died and despite all the odds managed to smuggle his gold with him to Heaven.  When he arrived the angels greeted him and were glad to see him but one thing puzzled the angels.  Why did he bring asphalt?  Where is Heaven?  The Bible speaks of a new Heaven and a new Earth.  What does that mean?  How can Heaven be pure happiness all the time with other humans there?  There is a great story near the end about an old preacher’s sermon on Heaven full of colorful language and a great point.  Are you close enough to the Lord for the prospect of Heaven to excite you?  If you are not, but would like to be, start by clicking on this link to The Gift:

The Decision of the Judge Is Final

19730708 The Decision of the Judge Is Final - Rev. Tommy Jones

Does God judge sin now?  Will God judge sin in the future?  What is partial judgment?  When will judgment be complete?  Would you be surprised to know that Judgment Day after death or the Second Coming is not to decide where you will go for eternity?  What are the three phases of Final Judgment and who is involved in each?  What is the Judgment Seat?  (Now don’t get confused here, this is a judgment of works on people who were saved by Grace through Faith.  So Salvation is not the issue of this judgment). What is the Sheep and Goat Judgment?  What is the Great White Throne Judgment?  What is the one unforgivable sin?  See John 3:18.  Are there degrees of punishment for unbelievers?  Are there degrees of rewards for Christians?  If you want to be on the right side of God’s judgment go to The Gift link on the Home Page or click here:

That Great Getting Up Morning

If we die will we live again?  What does the Bible say about it?  How are the dead raised?  With what body will they come?  Did the Bible give us any examples?  When will the Resurrection occur?  Will we recognize each other in  Heaven?  As wonderful as all this will be forbelievers in Christ, what will it mean for the unbeliever?  Brother Tommy is doing a great job here discussing topics related to the End Times.  He answers a lot of my questions.  But he also brings up many more.  We have two more lessons in this series that will be posted in the next two weeks. As a Christian I get excited to hear what my future holds, but I also remember what it was like to be unsure of my future.  If you have not nailed down your relationship to Jesus Christ, click the link on the findbibletruth.com front page marked ‘The Gift.’
