The LIVING GOD #TESTS

Georgia has stopped the #test for seniors to receive their high school diploma and even made it retro active for all those who completed the required attendance and courses.  No one likes tests, yet life is filled with testing.  Tests are difficult, yet we want certified professionals in every field.  What does the Bible say about testing?  Jer. 11:20 “the LORD OF HOSTS TESTS THE MIND AND HEART”…17:10″I the LORD TEST the MIND even to give each man according to his ways according to the results of his deeds”  Are you the exception?  Jer.20:12 “LORD TESTS THE RIGHTEOUS”  Prov.17:3 “Refining pot is for silver, and furnace for gold; but the LORD TRIES (TESTS) THE HEARTS”  1Peter1:6-9 “…you have been distressed by various trials that TEST YOUR FAITH, being more precious than gold that is perishable, even though TESTED by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen HIM, you love HIM and though you do not see HIM now, but believe in HIM, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of  glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your soul.”  Now that’s a graduation diploma with the LORD’S SEAL.

How often do you tell a #lie?  What do surveys tell us about the frequency of #lying?  What does the Bible say about our tendency to be dishonest?  How does God feel about lies?  How are Christians called to be unusual in regards to lying?  Is there more than one kind of lie?  What does flattery have to do with lying?  What is the worst lie we can tell and why is it the most futile?  How refreshing is it to deal with an honest person?

The LIVING GOD #SEES

Whose #looking at #YOU NOW?  Ever play #hide and #seek?  Jeremiah 23:24 “Can a man hide himself in hiding places, so I DO NOT SEE HIM: declares the Lord.”  Which satellite, computer, tv, or phone is watching you?  Yet, before all this technology existed Jeremiah 16:15,17 tells us “As the LORD LIVES…..MY EYES are on all their ways.  They are not hidden from my face nor is their iniquity concealed from MY EYES”  I am shocked with so many people  wanting to expose their debased behavior before God and the world without shame.  Jeremiah 32:19 “Lord, God great in counsel and mighty deeds, whose EYES ARE OPEN TO ALL THE WAYS of the sons of men, giving to everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.”   Jer.20:12 “LORD SEES THE MIND AND THE HEART”  1Sam.16:7″…. GOD SEES NOT AS MAN SEES, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART.”

It’s been a while since I gave you a Brother Tommy #series.  How about a series on the most #powerful #muscle in the human body, the #tongue.  This week, we will start off with what is wrong with using the tongue to tear others down.  When if ever, is judgment necessary?  Is there such a thing as talking too much?  Are we ever to judge others?  What makes us think that bringing others down, lifts us up?  What did Jesus have to say about it?  How can we avoid it?

The LIVING GOD #REDEEMER

Got yourself in a #pickle?  Started out nice and fresh, but things turned sour?  Do you need #HELP?  “Who you gonna call?”  God’s Word tells us in Isaiah 52:3 “…you will be redeemed without money” (that’s not a lawyer)  Is.47:4 “As for our REDEEMER, the LORD of HOSTS is His name.  The Holy One of Israel.”  Is.53:4 “He bore our grief and carried our sorrow…was wounded for our transgressions…with His stripes we are healed. 12.He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors. 63:9″…in His love and mercy HE REDEEMED THEM.”  Rev.5:9 “Jesus, lamb of God has REDEEMED US TO GOD by His blood, kindred from every tongue, people and nation”   Is.63:16 “…O Lord, our father, our REDEEMER, thy name is from everlasting”  Job.29:25  “I know that MY REDEEMER LIVES”     Upon whom will YOU CALL?

We just celebrated the death and resurrection of #JesusChrist.  Did He make that #sacrifice for ‘good’ people?  What is the fallacy in thinking ‘I am better than those church people’?  What was Jesus’ response when He was criticized for associating with sinners?  Why did the Lord compare the unsaved to lost sheep?  How are we like a lost coin when we refuse to have a relationship with Jesus?  And if you are a parent, I am sure you can relate to the lost son analogy.  What do these three parables teach us about the triune identity of God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
