As a father myself I can understand sacrificing for my children, but I cannot say that I would have passed God’s test of Abraham to physically sacrifice his only child. However, I have given them over to the Lord many times in prayer. How does the World say a father acts? Where has that left our society? What did Abraham show us about how to relate to God, others, and even our children? In God’s ideal family, who leads spiritually? How should a father align his priorities?

Why do bad things happen to good people and vice versa? First off, is it every time and every situation? Do non-believers fear the future? Should they? Can it make the believers envious? Today, in America, we honor our #fallen soldiers from previous #wars on #Memorial Day. Ok, so it is not #football season yet. But there is reason to #cheer. Have you ever chased something that everybody agreed would make you happy, only to achieve it and find out that the happiness didn’t last? What are the three things that Christ said we should be cheerful about? How does guilt destroy happiness? How do we get rid of it? How upset do we get when circumstances become stormy? What is God’s remedy for this? How upsetting is the thought of what happens after this life? Jesus Christ has a fix for that, too.

What does #God want from us? First, Brother Tommy tells us what God does not want as seen in #Psalms. But, unlike some of the biased criticism we have heard leveled at the Bible, we also read things we can do. How does a tree exemplify what God wants from us? Who plants the tree? What is the significance of where it is planted? What is the purpose of this tree? What will happen to this tree? What happens to those who are not rooted in the Lord?

Have you ever heard of #helicopter parents? It means #parents who have a tendency to hover over their kids and participate in every aspect of their adult or nearly adult children’s lives. How did #Jesus handle such a person? Was she wrong to ask what she did? What can we learn from this mother’s faith? How much ambition is too much? What differentiates good ambition from bad? What can we learn from the fruits of her labor?
