What #satisfies you? #Food – #Entertainment – #Sex – #Gambling – #Drugs -#Vacation – #Music -#Solitude or none of the afore mentioned? I do not see many individuals that appear satisfied with their circumstances today. Some are always striving while others have just given up. God’s Word gives up a ‘heads up’. “They wander in the wilderness in a solitary way….hungry and thirsty their souls fainted within them while crying unto the LORD in their trouble for Him to deliver them out of their distresses. If only they would praise the LORD for His goodness…for LORD SATISFIES THE LONGING SOUL and FILLS THE HUNGRY SOUL WITH GOODNESS” Psalm 107:4-9 “When you shall call, the LORD will answer. . .and SATISFY THE AFFLICTED SOUL with light through obscurity ” Isaiah 58:10 The Word speaks to us all both young and old as we all need His presence ! “Teach us to number our days….SATISFY US EARLY WITH THY MERCY; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” Ps.90:14 I know you love to make calls …well I am asking you to “Call upon the LORD and He shall answer you..He will be with you in time of trouble and will deliver and honor you in time of trouble. With LONG LIFE WILL THE LORD SATISFY HIM AND SHOW HIS SALVATION” Psalms 91:14-16

What #paths are you taking today? Do you know if the #road you are traveling will take you to your #destination? I see people being verbally directed by GPS to turn right or left at each interchange in order to arrive at said destination. Are we internet dependent? Today we all want immediate gratifications. Who or what do you turn to for information on your life journey? How long has it been since you actually read the word of God for His directions on your life’s pathway? “Show me Thy ways O LORD TEACH ME THY PATHS. LEAD ME IN THY TRUTH AND TEACH ME: for thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day. GOOD AND UPRIGHT IS THE LORD; HE TEACHES SINNERS IN THE WAY. THE MEEK HE WILL GUIDE IN JUDGMENT; and the meek he will teach his way. ALL THE PATHS OF THE LORD ARE MERCY AND TRUTH TO THOSES WHO KEEP HIS COVENANT AND HIS TESTIMONIES.” Ps.25:4,5,8-10 Can we take our eyes off artificial intelligence and say like David did in Ps.26:3 …”Thy lovingkindness is before my eyes and I have walked in thy truth” Will you …. FOLLOW THE LIVING GOD……

Do you #cheer when someone is the #recipient of a #prize given by the #rewarder on a game show? I know I am always happy for a #winner. Life gives us many opportunities to make choices which can lead to losses or gains both now and in the future. God’s word in the Bible provides wisdom and guidance for victorious living if we read it and heed it. “It maybe well with you…doing the will of God from your heart knowing that whatsoever good thing you do, you shall receive of the Lord.” Eph.6 “Let no man beguile you of your reward” Col.2:18 Most game shows have trick questions or unknown risks to choose between and so do we as we make choices moment to moment. Do you make the right call? “Call and the Lord shall answer ….and shall guide you continually.” ..”The morning shall come…and the glory of the LORD SHALL BE YOUR REWARDER….the repairer of the breach, the restorer of the path to dwell” Isaiah 58:8-12 Just as there are winners and losers on the game shows , Colossians 3:23-25 gives us fore knowledge “Know that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of inheritance for serving the Lord Jesus Christ but the one who does wrong shall receive the wrong which he has done and there is no respecter of persons.” Good news – God has made a way for us to be a winner by choosing life through His Son. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for the one who comes to God must believe that He is and that He THE LIVING GOD IS A REWARDER of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews11:6 Now that is something to cheer about!!!

Do you tear up easily? Some people say, “I never shed a tear”. Well I am not one that can say that instead I am the one saying, “I will cry with you”. You may have heard it said, “Keep a stiff upper lip”. Yes, there are times we all have to control our empathy and sorrow. Jesus Christ shed tears here on earth in the death of Mary’s brother. When Mary saw Jesus she said, “If you had been here my brother would not have died. Jesus saw her weeping. He asked where they had laid him. They said, ‘Lord come and see’ JESUS WEPT” With great compassion and power Jesus said. “Take away the stone from the place where the dead was laid and He spoke with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come forth and he that was dead came forth Then many who came with Mary and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him” Jesus Christ loves us. I do not know the many tears He has shed for us over our sins, but I pray that you will pray Job 16:20 with me “My friends scorn me, but my eye pours out tears unto God” for my friends, loved ones, and myself. “Rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep” Rom.12:15 Our time here on earth is spent with many changes and the Bible says, “ A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and time to dance; time to cast away and a time to gather; time to get and a time to lose; time to keep and time to cast away….He has made all things beautiful in its time” Ecc.3:4-11 NOW is the Time to come to Jesus, cast your cares, tears, joys upon Him for He endured the cross for our sins and is coming back to have joyous fellowship with His beloved. Keep looking up. Matt,13:41-43 Jesus said, “The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend and them which do wrong and cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. The righteous shall shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear let him hear.”

Do you have a #helper? There are times in our lives that we all need help. It maybe that you are very able bodied and feel very capable of complete reliance on self. Today, I see more individuals using mechanical devices to aid their independence. Whether it is a #wheelchair, a #hearing aid, or #limb replacements that has made it possible for many to care for themselves or even others that does not change the fact that all of us need help in this world. At my age I have had many helpers: parents, spouse, children, friends, teachers, pastors, doctors, carpenters, repairmen, yard and house help. The one consistent never failing helper in my life is the LIVING GOD who has worked HIS love through the afore mentioned individuals. “THE LORD PRESERVES THE SIMPLE – I WAS BROUGHT LOW AND HE HELPED ME” Ps.116:6 “Give wisdom to the simple and to the young give knowledge and discretion. A wise one will hear and will increase learning and attain wise counsel.” Prov.1:4,5 In all situations in life we make choices that windup helping or hurting us and others. Some choices make us become addicted to substances, people, or behaviors ! God is aware of our strengths and our weaknesses all He asks is that we turn to Him -just ask He hears you. “When evil comes upon you….cry unto LORD GOD while in your affliction and GOD WILL HEAR AND HELP” 11Chronicles20:9 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have, for Lord said, ‘I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU’ so with good courage we may say ‘THE LORD IS MY HELPER’ remember those who have spoken to you the word of GOD and follow in faith ...JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY AND TODAY AND FOREVER” Heb.13:5-8

Are you #yoked with anyone? Yoked can be defined as being coupled or linked together in a joint association even a tie or bond like the “yoke of matrimony”. What a beautiful picture of our relationship with the Living God. “For your Maker is your husband; the LORD OF HOSTS IS HIS NAME” Isaiah 54:5 How many people do you know who are searching for companionship? I see a landscape of drifting, searching, lonely, isolated individuals looking for instant gratification to their wants whether in pill, liquid, smoke, food, or entertainment form. I believe we all need to humble ourselves before our Maker and listen to His Words so that we can have a beautiful relationship with Him. Listen to these words which Jesus Christ spoke, “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. TAKE MY YOKE UPON YOU, AND LEARN OF ME: I AM MEEK AND LOWLY IN HEART: AND YOU SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS. FOR MY YOKE IS EASY AND MY BURDEN IS LIGHT.” Mathew11;28-30 Carefully choose your coupling . .

In what #city do you live? Many years ago in the early 1900’s most people lived a rural life with our #plumbing or #electricity. It wasn’t until the 1960’s with the invention of air conditioning that cities in America multiplied. With that great enrichment of our comfort came a new lifestyle! These cities had new sewers, plumbing, electrical lines, streets, paving and subdivisions. As the cities grew so did the problems with all those conveniences. Today we have storms which have demolished whole sections of towns which have not recovered. Now another hurricane named Dorian is approaching Florida in the coming days. Our small city just had a strong rain burst in the downtown area flooding homes and cars because the drainage system was not able to handled it. Now what does that have to do with the city of God? May I share – GOD IS PERFECTION AND SO IS HIS CITY. “GOD is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble therefore we will not fear though the earth be remove though the mountains be carried into the sea though waters roar and mountains shake. There is a river that the streams whereof shall MAKE GLAD THE CITY OF GOD, THE HOLY PLACE OF THE TABERNACLES OF THE MOST HIGH…..the LORD of hosts is with us.” Psalms 46 John wrote of his vision of the holy city in Revelation 20 “I saw a new heaven and earth: for the first heaven and earth were passed away and there was no more sea. I, JOHN SAW THE HOLY CITY, NEW JERUSALEM, COMING DOWN FROM GOD OUT OF HEAVEN.”
