What happens after we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?  Do we just sit back and cruise through life?  Brother Tommy tells us here how we can turbocharge our Christian experience.  To whom are Christians indebted?  Do we owe others because of what they have done for us or is it another reason?  Okay, now what do we do about our indebtedness?  How do we get ready?  How do we step on the gas?

Before you can share the Lord, you have to start a personal relationship with Him yourself.  To find out more, click here:

Faith Is Superior

How many ways are there to reach God?  What does the Bible say?  Amazingly, every alternative that has ever been proposed boils down to one thing.  What is it?  What is Grace?  Should we ask God for what we deserve?  How does God’s plan put the magnification where it belongs?  Why is Faith superior to Works?  On a personal note, my quiet time today was in Luke 23.  As I read about Pilate offering the crowd a choice to free Barrabas, a known criminal or Jesus, with whom he found no fault, I couldn’t help but see that we are all Barrabas.  Christ died in our place and we are guilty criminals given a fresh start.

As Each Day Requires

How valuable would it be to receive what you need when you need it?  Brother Tommy tells us where we can find this incredible resource.  How does it work? Can we save it up for a rainy day?  Is there an obstacle too big for God?  Does God take away all problems for His children?  Ask Paul.  Have any of the Lord’s promises ever failed?  If God already knows our needs, do we still have to ask for help?

Materials For A Happy Home

What does it take to build a house?  Wood, steel, bricks?  But, what does it take to build a happy home?  Fortunately God gave us a blueprint.  It starts with the marriage.  Who should be joined in matrimony?  How should a marriage reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church?  Without knowing what the Bible really says about husbands, wives, and families, many people mistakenly believe that it promotes male dominance.  Rather it is about division of duties and responsibilities.  A truly biblical view lifts up the woman and her role in the family and society without tearing down the man from his role.  What are the children asked to do?  But, what if the husband asks his wife or the parent asks their child to do something against God’s explicit instructions?  What is the greatest responsibility of a parent?

Convincing A Critical Community

How do we convince a critical community that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life?  We are called to be the salt and light to this world, but how?  The first step is the same one we have talked about many times here, Salvation.  Salvation means saved from something but it also means saved to something.  Are we serving the Lord?  Are our standards up to God’s standards?  Are we to judge or love?  If we are forgiven does that mean we can do what we want?  How do we behave at work?  How should we respond when wronged?  Is there a reward for going against our sinful human nature?

Is there a plan for our lives?  We often wonder why we are here.  Brother Tommy has the answer, found in the Bible, for our purpose in life.  Step one is something we discussed last week, that we repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as our Savior.  But what are we to do after that?  How can we follow the pattern that God has planned out for us?  Does God want robots?  What are the benefits of choosing to do God’s will?  What is the alternative?  How do we go from choosing God’s will to doing His will?  How far ahead is God’s will revealed?  How is it comforting?  What can we expect?

The Necessity Of A New Birth

How can a person be born twice?  We were all born once, or else we would not be here.  But who needs to be born again?  What is the difference between flesh and spirit?  What are the consequences of a second birth?  Can we believe in a concept we don’t fully understand?  What is required of us to receive this second birth?  (Interesting trivia:  Jesus Christ was symbolized many times throughout the Old Testament.  Can you name a time when He was symbolized by a snake?  It seems contrary to God’s message, but Brother Tommy will explain.)

What are you worried about?  What did Jesus say about too much concern for the future?  What do we value most?  How does that disrupt our lives with anxiety?  We were created to love people and use things, not the other way around.  What are the benefits, if any, of worrying?  What does it say to our Heavenly Father when His children worry?  How does Jesus say we can stop worrying?  What is the difference between a want and a need?  Once you know the difference and accept Jesus into your life, there is a powerful promise for you in this lesson.
