THE LIVING GOD’S – #COMPLAINT

As a young girl in grade school, I was a #Brownie and then a #Girl Scout for five years. After all the passing years, I still have all the pins, scarves, knife, pictures, and memories of friends and leaders at meetings and camp that taught me life lessons on survival, caring, and sharing all the while upholding God and country. I remember sore fingers from poking whole cloves into an orange to make a scented gift to share with a loved one for Christmas. Then the year at summer camp when we hiked into the prairie to cook an egg on top of a tin can sitting on the fire we started from rubbing sticks together ( it didn’t work) So our leader sent me back to camp to get some matches! That’s what a girl scout does(so I thought)so our troupe could eat. We did have singing and a huge bon fire that night. I certainly did not want to be a boy scout …I was a girl scout.! I have contention with waring factions against God’s creation of male and female! I want eyes, ears, and hearts open to God’s Words. Micah 6 “Hear now what the LORD SAYS…CONTEND before the mountains, ..HEAR THE LORD’S COMPLAINT….for the LORD HAS A CONTROVERSY WITH HIS PEOPLE. 9. The LORD’S voice cried unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear you the rod, and who has appointed it. Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the lawless that is abominable. 7. Woe is me..The good man is perished …: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net (I think internet today) that they may do evil with both hands. Trust not in a friend, put no confidence in a guide: for the son dishonors the father the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house. (sound familiar to internet connections) Where do you turn? 7:6″Shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high GOD?” 7″I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the GOD OF MY SALVATION: MY GOD WILL HEAR ME.” My complaint is that people are COLD. Just as I went back to camp for matches as a girl scout, now I would like to carry the book of God’s Word to ignite a fire within you which will illuminate His love to all in your circle of life.

Bedevilment, tragedy, shooting, bedlam, turmoil, and death have happened in Las Vegas. LORD said, “There is no peace unto the wicked” Is.48:22 That was played out before our view live on TV. Immediate crisis! Too many lives lost, injured, scarred by pure evil while good people were helping others survive the barrage of bullets. We saw goodness in the midst of evil, but where is abiding comfort? I find the EVERLASTING COMFORTER is in the LIVING GOD. I don’t know about you, but I need God’s loving comfort during these violent times. “For the Lord God will help me; I shall not be confounded:…He is near that justifies me…let us stand together..Who among you fears the LORD, obeys the voice of his servant, has no light: Let him trust in the name of the LORD” Is.50:7-10 “I even I, am the LORD THAT COMFORTS YOU” Is.51:12 In times like these we need the LORD> “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, COMFORT YOUR HEARTS and establish you in every good word and work – – pray for us that the WORD OF THE LORD may have free course and be glorified…and keep you from evil” 11Thes.2:16-3:3 Jesus said in John 15:25,26 “They hated me without a cause, but when the COMFORTER IS COME, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of me.” In the midst of the storms, we need to look up ..”Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD HAS COMFORTED HIS PEOPLE AND WILL HAVE MERCY UPON HIS AFFLICTED.” Isaiah 49:13

This week, we are wrapping up Brother Tommy’s series on #ethics, Biblical vs. non-biblical. A personal #conviction is after all a conclusion you have made ahead of time based on your ethics. Where should these convictions come from? What if it is something that is not specifically prohibited in the Bible? Should you persuade others to agree with your convictions? Are negatives always necessary? What is one sure way to make sure that you are making the right ethical decisions both negative and positive? What are the three questions you can use to make ethical decisions? What are adopted convictions? How do you start forming your own conclusions?
