Revival – How does it start?  What are the conditions that are ripe for revival?  What is spiritual corruption?  What is intellectual blindness?  What is heart hunger?  Have you seen any of this lately?  If this was true in 1980, how much more so is it true today?  What part can you play in bringing revival this week?  But we don’t worship idols today, do we?  Listen to the difference between trying to use God and being used by God.

Here is another great message on our need for revival and how to prepare for it. What happens when God does everything for His people and they still have a failure of Faith?  Well, that sounds like our world today.  But it parallels the experience of the Israelites after they were released from Egypt after many miracles and still turned to the idols of Egypt when they got to the wilderness.  They needed a revival at Mount Sinai.  What kept God from destroying them?  What are the steps necessary for revival?  What is involved in repentance?  What’s the focus?  How do we request it?

A few weeks ago I promised you three messages about revival from 1981.  Today I bring you the last of this interrupted series.  How often do we ask God for a sign?  The Northern Kingdom of Israel had turned away from God, despite His miraculous delivery of His people from Egypt.  What would it take to bring them back to Him?  How about today?  Our God is an awesome God and he has  already proved himself with great works, the highest of which was the sending of His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins.  To learn more about this gift go to:

Temptation is not a sin.  Yielding to the temptation is when sin occurs.  But how do we triumph over temptation?  From where do these temptations come?  Who is tempted?  Why did God create Satan?  Don’t entertain, expect, excuse, or excite sin.  But what are the positive steps we can take?  Renounce the world, run from temptations of the flesh, and resist the Devil (only after you submit to God).

With Mother’s Day coming up here is Brother Tommy’s salute to our mothers.  Here Tommy gives biblical examples both good and bad of motherhood.  What are the crucial contributions that mothers make to our lives?  Where did Christ’s humanity come from?  On a personal note, I just want to thank my Mom for raising three kids plus one husband in a God-fearing and loving home.  She set a great example for her family and her community.

Compare what we know about Jesus Christ and His compassion to what we learned last week about our enemy, the Devil.  Brother Tommy delivered this message at the Georgia Evangelical Conference in 1969.  Do we see this world with the same compassion as Christ?  What does Christ see when He looks at
us?  Listen for the pointed question of the little old lady touring West Minster Abbey church.  If Tommy talked about distraction to destruction in 1969, how much worse is it today?  This message was delivered to an auditorium full of preachers but it is a challenge to all believers to deliver the saving message of Jesus Christ.  Do we still have a situation described as a plentiful harvest with scarce workers?  How do we start?  What is more important than the work of the Lord?  (Listen carefully.)
