The human heart is a mystery.  Not the organ which pumps blood through our body, although we are still learning new things constantly about how well that is designed.  No, Brother Tommy is speaking here of the emotional center of our body.  What makes people act the way they do?  Sometimes they follow their feelings to conclusions that others looking on cannot understand.  What is wrong with following our emotions?  What if we are sincere?  Can our feelings deceive us?  Are we basically good or bad?  What is wrong with our assessment of our own heart?  What is more important – What we do or why we do it?  From where does true  change come?

Why?  I thought this was appropriate for today as I went to get in my car and found a flat tire.  Typical Monday, with all the commitments I have for today, i did not need this drain of time and money.  Or did I?  What kind of God lets us suffer?  Does He care?  What does suffering prove?  Who makes us suffer God or the devil?  What role does Faith play in suffering?  What does our suffering show to others?  What does our suffering show to us?  Where is God during our low points?  What does suffering prevent?  What does it teach?  So does the Bible say anything about how to handle suffering?  Of course it does.

What is better than being saved?  (That is one of those words we use that means more to Christians than the World.  We don’t use it as code to hide what we are discussing, more like shorthand to quickly communicate ideas among fellow Believers.  For more follow this link:

  But after accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, what happens next?  How do we know it is real?  What can keep us from the Love of God?  What does sanctified mean?  Who is a Saint?  Why don't we sacrifice animals like they did in the Old Testament?  Are we still saved if we sin after we accept Jesus as Lord?  How hard do we have to work to keep our Salvation?  Who is the Holy Spirit and what tole does He play in our lives?  Have you heard of Predestination?  What does it mean?  So where is eternal security found?  What did Jesus say about security?  What did He pray about it?  How much can a Christian sin without losing their Salvation?  Wow, Brother Tommy gives Biblical answers to so many relevant questions in this message.  What a blessing!

Oh, how we look forward to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, coming back again to take us home and straighten out this crooked world.  But what about now?  What difference can He make now?  He turns doubt into faith, death into life, and heartaches into hallelujahs.  This may have been an Easter message back in 1986, but it is always appropriate when Brother Tommy presents the Gospel message.  For more follow this link:

Now before you say that I am trying to choose a candidate for you by posting this week’s blog, realize that this message was delivered in 1984.  Brother Tommy is talking about getting involved in the political process on a local level.  Although this message comes from an American point of view, everywhere you have people working together you have some form of politics.  What are some myths about politics?  Do we need government?  What can a Christian bring to the process?  Of what should a Christian be aware?  Is it Christian to compromise?

Did you ever want to know what is the most important thing that God wants us to do in life?  Well, a lawyer asked Jesus that very question.  His answer was a perfect summary of the message of the entire Bible.  What is the connection between loving God, others, and ourselves?  Why is it important to love ourselves?  What are some signs that we can see in ourselves that indicate we don’t love ourselves properly?  How does it affect our ability to love God and others?  What are seven ways we can improve our love of self to the point it needs to be?  The majority of this message is devoted to improving our self image as Christians.  A couple of times Brother Tommy touches on the other extreme and how dangerous it is.  Unfortunately nearly thirty years after this was recorded I am afraid we have just as many, if not more people now that love themselves too much.  To accept Christ as Savior we must first die to the old sinful self and then build it back properly.  To learn more, follow this link:
