#FakeNews, #MyTruth, #Spin, #WhiteLies – what do these have in common?  Is there a part of the body that becomes sharper with use?  How does the Bible warn us about guarding it?  What is the worth of a good reputation?  Who is created in the image of God and why is that important?  Most of the consequential atrocities in human history turned on the false statement of a witness.  Where do lies originate?  Can you get in trouble by staying silent?

Having gone through the Ten Commandments in detail, you may feel like there is no way to keep any of them, much less all of them.  Why would God give us these difficult rules and a nature that is prone to stray?  Next week, Brother Tommy gives the answer in the Law of Love messages.  But, you can get a sneak peek by going to the Gift link on the home page.

What is wrong with a bit of juicy #gossip?  How fast and how accurately do these stories typically travel?  It is no wonder our courts do not allow hearsay testimony.  Just look at the telephone game where a group of people sit in a line and a message is whispered by the first person, who then whispers it to the second, and so on until the last person repeats the message out loud to the group.  Invariably, the more people there are in the line, the more the message changes through misunderstanding, biases, interpretation, or sometimes just mischievousness.  How serious does God take the telling of tales?  How much would your communication be curtailed if you were to ask the Lord before you repeated something you heard?  Even a new follower or a person seeking to follow Christ can filter their speech if they just apply three simple criteria.  This message was delivered in 1985, before the dawn of social media, but it is even more relevant today.
