With #Science and #Faith, it is not an either/or situation.  But one does go further than the other in explaining the world around us.  What does today’s lesson refer to when it says problem or profit?  Brother Tommy is referring to the Bible, God’s Word.  If we had perfect knowledge would there be any conflict with the Bible?  What are some of the mistakes we make that lead us to have a problem understanding God’s Word?  Stay tuned next week for a discussion of miracles.

THE LIVING GOD #WORD

WHO GETS THE LAST #WORD?  In any #conversation, #argument, #debate, or #verbal #exchange, the one expressing the last word seems to me to have the more lasting effect.  I have known a few people who always had to have the last word on any subject.  When  you twitter do you need the last comment?  I personally think having the last say on any matter seems to make the one giving it a feeling of superiority.  In my family, the elders always had the last word, and we honored their wisdom and stature as heads of our households.  Today, I notice many individuals who act superior to their peers as well as the older generations displaying no need for a word of wisdom.   Some people have cleverly shortened  words, made up slurs, or transposed  the words’ meaning.  (high jacked words).   I am glad to say there is one word that will never change!  “In the beginning was the WORD,  and the WORD was with GOD, and the  WORD WAS GOD.” John1:1  “the  WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth” John 1:14   “the  WORD of GOD IS LIVING and active and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Heb. 4:12   The Bible tells me who got the first word and who will get the final last word...  “HE is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD.” Rev.19:13

Why Study The Bible?

19880529pm Why Study The Bible - Rev. Tommy Jones

Is the #Bible in your house well used?  Is it a #history book or even just a work of #fanfiction?  What other book has as much about life and beyond?  Why is it referred to as the Word of God?  How did the Bible come to be?  How did the contributors know when it was finished?  Does the Bible contain information for saving our eternal soul?  What about daily living in the meantime?  As Barbara says,’ the meantime can be a mean time.’  What is the problem with ignoring the Bible after a salvation experience?  What is the difference between sins of commission and omission, and how does the Bible handle both? How is the Bible the ultimate instruction book for Life?

The LIVING GOD #MOST#HIGH

I am #amazed and #awed by #God’s  #Word.  As I read the Word today,  it is for #today!  In Daniel 7, as he tells his vision from the Lord, I get goosebumps  that he saw ten kings and kingdoms that rise up to tread down and devour the whole earth; however another rises after them who subdues even them.  25.”he shall speak great words against the MOST HIGH, and shall persecute the saints of the MOST HIGH, and think to change times and laws; they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. But the court shall sit for judgment, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.  The kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of all kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the MOST HIGH, whose kingdom is and everlasting kingdom, and ALL dominions shall serve and obey HIM.”  Now what does Paul have to say about this in Titus 2?  “Grace of God brings salvation and appeared to all men teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; LOOKING for that blessed hope, and the GLORIOUS APPEARING of the GREAT GOD  and our SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST.”  Keep Looking Up ^
