Grace To Sustain

Have you ever gotten in a #badmood because you were having a #badday?  Who hasn’t?  Today, I had to apologize to my grown children for my #attitude about the way things turned out.  I had planned a reunion to celebrate birthdays and I was being plagued with what appeared to be inconveniences.  In my lack of Faith, I forgot that God has it under control.  How much better would my witness have been if I had praised each setback as it occurred?  If only I had posted this blog about 24 hours earlier.  By Grace through Faith, we are saved.  But is that all that Grace does?  How is Grace given out?  How can it help us to avoid sin?  What about trouble?  Can Christians avoid trials and tribulations?  Is there a purpose for this?

The LIVING GOD #HIGH PRIEST

Who or What is a high#priest?  According to the word of God, the #Bible, a male descendent of Aaron was consecrated by divine appointment to the priesthood representing the people before Yahweh.(Ex.29)  What does that have to do with #Jesus?  So…how does that affect ME?  (Heb.4-5) “CHRIST did not glorify himself to become a HIGH PRIEST; but HE who said to Him, ‘Thou Art My Son Today I Have Begotten Thee…as a PRIEST FOREVER after the order of Melchisedec’  Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered having been made perfect.  He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation.   There is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.  Seeing then that we have a great HIGH PRIEST, that is passed into the heavens, JESUS  the SON of GOD, let us hold fast our confession.   Heb. 7 tells us that Jesus is an unchangeable priesthood able to save us that come unto God by Him as He ever lives to make intercession for us.   For we do not have an HIGH PRIEST who cannot be touched by our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.  LET US COME BOLDLY UNTO THE THRONE OF GRACE, THAT WE MAY OBTAIN MERCY, AND FIND GRACE TO HELP IN TIME OF NEED.”  Through His Grace, may we say like Job 19:25 “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I SEE GOD….

Growing Christians

19830605 Growing Christians - Rev. Tommy Jones

Once we have received #JesusChrist as our personal #Lord and #Savior, what can we expect and what is expected of us?  How many conversions are involved?  What is happening when a Christian turns back to their old ways or never really changes?  If a Christian could lose their Salvation, what would that mean about Jesus’ sacrifice?  If the question of security has been answered, and it has, how do we then grow?

Our Wonderful Salvation

19850609pm Our Wonderful Salvation - Rev. Tommy Jones

In times of #trials and #troubles Peter is reminding the believers of how wonderful their great #Salvation is.  First, how do we receive this wonderful salvation?  Second, how does our salvation contrast with the background of despair that exists among the unbelievers?  And how important is the resurrection of Jesus Christ to this hope that we have?  What is this inheritance that Peter talks about?  When do we receive it?
