I don’t think I ever thought of being #God’s #Offspring until studying Acts 17. Definition of offspring is stated as a child or children; a descendant , however remote from the original stock. Now that I am a great grandmother, I have a better understanding of what Paul was saying to those listening to him on Mars’ Hill in Athens. “God that made the world and all things therein and seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth…….has given to all life and breath; and has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth…..that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him and find Him, though He be not far from every one of us; for in Him We Live, and Move, and have our being…for WE ARE HIS OFFSPRING. Forasmuch then WE ARE THE OFFSPRING OF GOD.” Webster’s Dictionary’s last explanation for offspring states the result is FRUIT.

#Violence, #Barbarism, #Massacres, and all manner of #Carnage are happening right now as displayed on the internet and TV. While #Evil is thrust before our eyes to make us #fearful, Ps.56:11 “In #GOD will I put my trust; I will not be afraid what man can do unto me…13God has delivered my soul from death: will He not deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?” Recently, I was told that a Sunday School teacher was telling others to not admit you’re a Christ follower for you could be a target. I pray we will follow God’s word rather than the fear mongers. Ps.56:3 “What time I am afraid, I will trust in God…I will praise His word…I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” Ps.57 “Be merciful unto me, O God, for my soul trusts in Thee; in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; GOD WHO PERFORMS ALL THINGS FOR ME. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. GOD shall send forth His Mercy and Truth.”

“I #choose you” is a phrase we all like to #hear! Remember grade school when you were the first or last one chosen on a team? We all make #choices that affect us every day. Even choices that others make by not including us in their plans bring about change. Acts 15:7-11 “Peter said,…you know how a good while ago GOD MADE a CHOICE among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. God who knows the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as HE did unto us; putting no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith….We believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved…even as they.” GOD CHOOSES YOU —- NOW YOU CHOOSE

Have you thrown away your #empty Valentine #heart shaped box after #searching, testing, and trying to get the best chocolate in the selection? The #Bible tells us that God looks, tries, and searches our hearts for the #sweet and the #bitter. “I, the LORD SEARCH the HEART” Jer.17:10 “Lord looks at the heart”1Sam.16:7 “For the LORD SEARCHES ALL HEARTS, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him: but if you forsake Him He will reject you forever.” 1Chron.28:9 “SEARCH ME, O GOD, and KNOW MY HEART; TRY ME and know my anxious thoughts; see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.” Ps.139:23

I had an uncle who could not pass a mirror without stopping to smile/adjust his hair and admire himself! In this day and time I can only imagine all the #SELFIES which he would post. What does the #Bible say about all this self adulation? Prov. 1:22 “How long, you simple ones will you love simplicity? scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?” Prov. 18:2 “A fool has no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself” Ever heard it said, ‘It’s all about #ME’? Eccles. 5:4 “the LORD takes no DELIGHT in fools” Prov. 2:6,10,11 “the LORD gives wisdom; when wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge it is pleasant unto your soul; discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you” Micah 7:18 “Who is a GOD like Thee, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because GOD DELIGHTS in UNCHANGING LOVE.”

Many people enjoy Hallmark stories, so I want to share the greatest love of all. It is recorded in John 17:24-26 when Jesus said, “Father, I DESIRE that they whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am, in order that they may behold My glory, which Thou gave Me; for Thou did LOVE ME before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, although the world has not known Thee, yet I have known Thee; and these have known that Thou did send Me; and I have made Thy name known to them and will make it known; that the LOVE wherewith Thou did LOVE ME may be in them and I in them..” “For GOD so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

#Inflated or #Deflated are terms we have heard on every newscast lately addressing the football’s air pressure. This brings back my thoughts to rules, laws, standards of any game or sport or contest. There has to be an official to make the appropriate call according to the rules of the game which can be challenged by a review/replay in football. How does this work with our game plan for living our life? Have you seen people totally deflated/depressed or others arrogantly puffed/ inflated with self importance? We are to ‘stand guard at our station to keep watch for God’s Word’ just like Habakkuk. Hab. 2:4 “Behold for the proud one , His soul is not right within him; but the righteous will live by his faith.” Bible speaks of “WOE” which is a miserable state. “Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity….Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil..” Is.5:18-22 The Living Lord is the head official for our game of life and He already has an instant review…. HIS PREVIOUS CALL STANDS! ISAIAH 3:13 “THE LORD STANDS UP TO JUDGE THE PEOPLE”

Are you #driving yourself #faster and faster, yet always #behind? In our fast-paced #society, are you on a purposeful path or just trying to get to the next quick fix? A champion runner, Oswald Chambers said, “Never run before God gives you His direction” First we have to ASK GOD as in Ps.143:8 “Show me the way to go, for to you I entrust my life“ No one likes to ask for directions when traveling, but all of us need instruction on long uncharted paths. “I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not in himself; nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps. Correct me LORD” Jer.10:23 “The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD DIRECTS his steps“ Prov. 16:9 “Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord DIRECT OUR WAY to you and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all men, just as we also do for you; so that He may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints” 1 Thess.3:11-13 Drive safely on your life’s journey following true Heavenly Directions to that great meeting!
