Have you ever heard anyone say that we are all God’s #children?  Well, the Bible reserves that term for those that believe in the Lord, #Jesus Christ, as their Savior.   God has some very personal and specific details He wants to bring about in your life.  But, there are some things common to all Believers that we know He wants for us.  How would you like the hotline number to the Creator and Ruler of the Universe?  Would you also like to reduce your desire to do bad things?  How about for other people to say that you stand out for the things you are doing?  What is God’s part in these changes and our part?  Do you want to get to heaven and be the runt of the litter?

Basic Biblical Beliefs – The Work Of The Spirit In Creation And Salvation

So, what do you do for a #living?  Shortly after finding out your name and #family members, I would probably ask about your #work.  Last week, we found out about the third person of the one true God, the Holy Spirit.  What does He do?  What part did He play in the creation of the world and not just the world, but your creation?  What would happen to this world without the Holy Spirit?  The biggest problem with this world is sin and man’s propensity to follow into it.  The Holy Spirit is the one who affects change in us.  Through conviction, what does He show us?  We all need this conviction, but it would be merely depressing without regeneration.  Who turns around and gives us comfort and growth?  How have believers been sealed for their earnest inheritance?

The Joy of Jesus – Pointing To Perfection – Conscientiously

20051106 Joy Of Jesus - Pointing To Perfection - Conscientiously - Rev. Tommy Jones

If your faith is in Jesus, you can be joyous everyday despite #viruses, #volcanos, or #locusts.  We just celebrated #Easter not because it is #Spring or the #flowers are in bloom, but because #Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and then conquered #death for us with His #resurrection.  Are Christ followers perfect?  Why would Paul address these comments to perfect people when he just said that he himself was not perfect?  We cannot do anything to attain salvation, but do we have responsibilities after we have been saved?  If we have a role in our growth, does that mean God is hands off?  How can we know where we are in our growth in the Lord by looking at Paul’s writings?  Was he finished?  Have we arrived?

P.S. I jumped out of order in this series but next week we will realign, God willing.
